THE DEAR ABBEYS
Who are the Dear Abbeys?
The Dear Abbeys is an all-male presenting a cappella group based in Boston University. Founded in February of 1992 and celebrating their 30th anniversary this Spring, the Abbeys have been a staple of New England collegiate a cappella for decades. They won the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCAs) in 2005, and have maintained a level of professionalism ad musical excellence ever since! I joined the Dear Abbeys at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, and it has remained my favorite extra-curricular I have ever had the privilege of joining. With the Dear Abbeys, I have had the opportunity to arrange five pieces of music spanning across numerous genres: Amy Winehouse's "Valerie," Adele's "Skyfall," Daoi Freyr's "Think About Things," Matt Maltese's "As the World Caves In," and Maneskin's "Beggin'." I also was able to solo on three songs with the group! Below is a collection of musical arrangements and videos from my time with the Abbeys!
